Elliott Lipinsky is an attorney, a prosecutor and a lifelong Republican. Elliott was born and raised in Montgomery County, and is the District Attorney for Wilcox County in the 4th Judicial Circuit – overseeing the prosecution of crimes ranging from DUI to Murder. He is the Secretary of The Montgomery County Republican Party, and an Executive Board Member and Secretary of The Montgomery County Young Lawyer Section.
He is an accomplished prosecutor with stints as a Deputy District Attorney for Tuscaloosa County in the 6th Judicial Circuit, and for Bibb, Dallas and Perry counties in the 4th Judicial Circuit, and as a City Prosecutor for the City of Selma. Elliott also has private sector experience as a junior partner at Hobbs and Hain.
Elliott is running for Alabama State Auditor out of a sense of service, and to inject some new blood into Alabama politics. It is high time that young people who are service-minded step up and run for office. The State of Alabama demands good governance, and as a political outsider and district attorney, he has the skills to help restore confidence in our broken government. An effective auditor can root out waste, fraud and abuse, and save the state millions of dollars.
Elliott holds an undergraduate degree from The University of Alabama, and a Juris Doctorate from The Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. He is also pursuing an LL.M. from The University of Alabama. He serves on numerous professional boards, and is a volunteer for many community and civic organizations including Red Cross, Humane Shelters, The United Way and Kiwanis. He has volunteered as a Pike Road Volunteer Firefighter, and an Assistant Scoutmaster with The Boy Scouts of America.
Elliott and his wife, the former Caroline Handey, live in Pike Road, Alabama with their dog Bonkers. This is his first run for statewide office.
